Mission
Mid States Association of Colleges Stores is a not-for-profit organization providing professional development, networking, and the exchange of best practices in the collegiate store industry. The goal is for stores to apply these lessons to improve student success and the overall campus experience.
Recent Member News:Community UpdatesAnother loss has hit our Mid States community. Dale Davis, Bookstore Manager at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, passed away January 6, 2021. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to all who knew Dale.
We are saddened to hear of the passing of two MSACS former colleagues. Ed Shields, former manager at Graceland University, passed away on 12/21/2020. Michelle Capps, former manager at Longview Community College Bookstore passed away 11/27/2020. Our hearts go out to the friends and families of Ed and Michelle.
Navigating the New LandscapeThank you to all who joined us for our fall virtual conference, Navigating the New Landscape. While we missed not seeing everyone in person, it was great to connect virtually. The presentation recordings are now live for members to view on the website under the Member Resources tab.
Teresa Vestal RetiresCongratulations to Teresa Vestal on her retirement. Teresa worked at the Independence Community College Campus Store in Independence, KS. She was passionate and dedicated to the college store industry and Mid States Association. Teresa was a past Mid States President and served on multiple committees. Teresa was presented a lifetime Mid States membership as we appreciate all she has done for her store, community, the Mid States Association and our industry. Best wishes Teresa!
Town Hall Series WebinarsThank you to our store and vendor members who continue to support and join our Town Hall webinar series. The series has continued to provide discussion and idea sharing as we all navigate the challenges of COVID-19 to our campus stores.
Steve Westenbroek Inducted as the 2020-2021 NACS PresidentCongratulations to our own Steve Westenbroek, new President of the National College Store Association for 2020-21. Steve was inducted while at CAMEX in New Orleans in February. We are proud of you Steve!
